The holiday cottage (left on the attached photo) is laid out as follows: On the bottom level (street level) you find facilities: utility room with sink, washing machine and tumble dryer, boiler room with oil fired central heating boiler and bicycle store with 2 bikes.
A spiral staircase leads to the middle level with large open plan sitting room, one large bedroom with double bed (200cm x 200cm), en-suite bathroom, WC. The spiral staircase continues to garden level with open plan well equipped kitchen / dining room, TV room with double sofa bed, large bedroom with two single beds, bathroom, WC. From the dining area double french doors lead to the garden.
The gardens consist of a formal “parterre”, several sitting areas (open and covered) with views to the mountains, a children’s playhouse and 5 acres of woods and meadows. A small wooded part of grounds is a nature reserve.
Garden furniture and BBQ are provided.
The pool area is a little separate from the house on a higher level with lovely views southwards to the Cagire Mountain and surrounding landscape. The owners of Le Pouech will wish to use the pool occasionally, mostly early mornings.
The approach to the cottage is via a long private drive from the middle of the village to a parking area some 40 yards from the house.
We will welcome you with some refreshments on your arrival (fresh fruit, tea, milk, sugar, wine cheese, bread etc. etc.)

Our area of Gascony - south west of Toulouse towards the Pyrenees – is an area of outstanding beauty. The climate is mild with beautiful hot summers – but at night always cool enough to sleep well. Aspet, a lively and charming small market town, is some 15 to 20 minutes south of the A64 motorway Toulouse – Biarritz, set in the foothills of the Pyrenees about 450m above sea-level. The centre of Aspet can be reached in a 5-minute walk through our own grounds. It offers 2 cafés, 2 restaurants, shopsand a lively market twice weekly.
lovely walks through unspoiled countryside. Tennis and squash courts are in Aspet. The high Pyrenees with, climbing, fishing and a range of other leisure activities such as rafting, trekking, horse riding, mountain biking etc. are all within short driving distance. There are two paths up to the Cagire mountain (1912m high, you star either from 960m or from 1350m).
If you like to discover historical places and the history of the area come and explore the countryside find a wealth of treasures from prehistoric sites to Roman remains, from Romanesque architecture through to 18th and 19th century buildings as well as traditional customs and Folklore. Many fascinating small towns welcome you to discover their character and charm.
Should you decide to go to the seaside, you touch the coast, both Atlantic or Mediterranean in about 2 hours driving time. Spain is near enough to drive there for lunch!
By the way - crime in our area of the countryside is almost non-existent as are traffic jams.
