PAIZAY LE TORT - a charming village in a wooded valley, encompassed by three châteaux. The river Berlande meandering through where you are able to fish.
Pleasant walks, rambles or bicycle rides can be found from this typical French village. A Roman church, friendly bar/restaurant and tennis courts only a short stroll away. Fresh bread delivered daily and a butchers van visiting once a week.
MELLE - a delightful Romanesque market town only 3 miles away.
Three historical churches, a wonderful market on Friday,
old royal silver mines and a 'path of discovery' a ramblers delight!
Many classical and cultural events held. Horse riding.
NIORT - the town lies on the banks of the Sevre Niortaise river - Romanesque keep, wonderful covered food market. Restaurants, pedestrianised streets, golf course.
